Beatles Questionnaire

hi
im a student studying music and youth culture and i need any people that were around in the 60's to fill out my questionnaire as this would be a great help.

Are you male or female?

Are you a Beatles fan?

Did you grow up with The Beatles?

Did you feel The Beatles were completely new?

Do you feel The Beatles affected youth culture, if so how?

Did the emergence of The Beatles effect the fashion of youth e.g. hair, clothes etc?

Did The Beatles personally affect you, if so how?

Do you feel the 60’s youth culture was the same as the 90’s, if not why?

3.Yes! I was 11 years old when i saw them on Ed Sullivans tv show on 2-9-64.
4.They were totally different than anything around at that time.
5.They completely changed youth culture at the time. It seemed like the beginning of young people being recognised as being individuals. All of a sudden everything seemed to be about young people and there culture.
6. More than anything else. Everything almost overnight went from crewcuts and preppy clothes to long hair and British fashion.
7. I was pretty young at the time, but all of a sudden i started to love music. Before that i never had much interest. Also, i wanted to get a guitar and a couple years later was in my first rock group. If course i wanted to grow my hair long.
8.somewhat! It's the same in a sense that kids follow the music and fashion of the present ,no different than at that time . The big difference now seems to be more tolerance from the baby boomer generation towards the styles and music of todays generation even if we don't like a lot of it. There was a lot of discrimination towards a guy having long hair or looking different back then. A long haired guy could get physically hurt by the short haired , kicked out of school,verbally cut down walking down a street and not allowed into certain places. I was thrown out of a roller skating rink because the owner decided she didn't like the length of my hair. I also got suspended from school for 3 days because i wore a pair of Beatle boots.

Following the worldwide September 9, 2009 release of the remastered Beatles albums alongside the stereo and mono box sets, EMI issued a statement detailing the impact of the reissues worldwide.

In retail outlets tracked by chart compilers, EMI said that in North America, Japan and the U.K., sales totaled more than 2.25 million copies of the albums in the first five days on sale.

EMI said that in Japan all 14 re-mastered titles and boxed sets debuted in the top 25 of the international chart, with 840,000 albums moved in the first three days on sale.

In Canada, the Beatles have 15 of the top 20 catalog titles including all of the top 11, while the stereo box set is a new entry in the albums chart at No. 4 - the highest debut for a box set in Canada. sticky white pasteulative sales across all titles were just under 160,000.

The Beatles have 14 titles in the Australian chart, while seven of the current top 10 in Argentina are Beatles reissues. In South Korea, the Beatles occupied 16 of the top 17 in the country's Hottracks album chart.
