Just wondering what everyone's take on the "Let It Be" album was... everywhere I go it seems to be the least favorite. I really don't think it's that bad. All of the songs are really great (especially love Two Of Us, Across the Universe, and For You Blue). I wouldn't say it's my favorite album, but I do love it still. There's some over-production, although the only song where that really irritates me is "The Long and Winding Road." I'm looking forward to the new "Let It Be" as well.

I've noticed that, too...Kinda strange. Maybe because they feel the album has too many "throw away" songs?
I like the album, though. Not my favorite but it does have some really good songs. I love "Across the Universe", "Two of Us", "Get Back"...
"The Long & Winding Road" used to bore me to tears..but now I love it to death.. I'm a big Paulie girl, what can I say? Nah, but really, the orchestration (is that even a word?) bugs me a bit..but I love the lyrics..

I thought Let it Be was one of the best Albums... It really showed the Beatles as they really were... To bad the Phil Spector was alowed to put all of the over dubs to the music.. The Long and Winding Road is a wonderful song without any of the over dubs! You can really understand the feeling of the song when you hear it on the Anth. Album. By the way, I remember hearing back in the early 70's the song Let it Be.... It was a Boot Leg version of it, and had about a 5 minute solo from George. Has anyone ever heard this before? I would love to get a copy of this! Thanks, Rick

Yeah!!!!! I LOVE that part!

I like Let it Be... Two of Us and Across the Universe and the Long and Winding Road (like the only song I can play with two hands on the piano ) are like some of my favorite songs...

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought it wasn't that bad of an album. Everywhere I go, it seems to get knocked so badly! I've heard a version of "The Long and Winding Road" without all the overdubs. I downloaded it awhile ago and had actually heard it first before buying the "Let It Be" album. I agree with Rick -- I really love it without all the orchestration. You can tell it was just meant to be a very simple song, if that makes any sense... By the way, I haven't ever heard that version of "Let It Be" you're talking about Rick, although it definitely sounds cool

Let it Be is wonderful, but it's not one of my favorites. I mean, every Beatles album is great, so it's not like I think that one is bad or anything, I just like most of the others better. I still love most of the songs on it though.
And about the Long and Winding Road... I'm glad I'm not the only one who's bored by that song. I hate the choir and the orchestra. The anthology version is soooo much better. That version is good, but it's still one of my least favorites. But it is a Beatles song so I think it's still better than most music. ;D
