Im reading "There Are No Children Here"-- by Alex Kotlowitz. It's about the public housing projects in Chicago in the late 80's, early 90's. A sad, but good boook.

My cousin (who's taking a Jane Austen Literature/Film class in college) said that it's good, but the ending is not the same as the book...We'll have to see!

LoL, no I think the plural of regents is actually regentses... Or maybe the singular is regent and the plural is regents...Hehe. Don't really know, maybe I'll ask. A Regents...Well...A Regents is a good ol' New York standardized test. Everyone in the state has to take a regents... One after Earth Science, one after Bio, one after Chem, after Physics...After Global History, after English 9 + 10, after Math A, Math B.. I've taken two so far, so I've got a long list ahead of me... New York State is the only frikken state to give out regentses, besides Cali which has their own version... They really suck, they're apparently harder than the SATS...Plus the whole curriculum for each class is based around what we need to learn for the goddamn regents... Hope that explained it well enough...

Sounds like what we have here in Texas (TEKS)..We used to have the TAAS, which was like Texas Academic..yeah, something like that Both are standardized tests, and they put your score on your transcripts Also, if you don't pass them, you'll get held back..if you don't make good enough scores, they'll put you in Academic classes.. It's really dumb, considering they don't teach us the stuff on there..the teachers teach what *they* want to, so us students get screwed over!
