Sounds like what we have here in Texas (TEKS)..We used to have the TAAS, which was like Texas Academic..yeah, something like that Both are standardized tests, and they put your score on your transcripts Also, if you don't pass them, you'll get held back..if you don't make good enough scores, they'll put you in Academic classes.. It's really dumb, considering they don't teach us the stuff on there..the teachers teach what *they* want to, so us students get screwed over! Heh, that sounds about the same...Except regents...That's all they talk about from the day you enter kindergarten till the day you finish your last one. *sigh* ...And they ONLY teach us what's on the regents, because they have to. It really kind of sucks sometimes...It kind of makes you feel...I don't know...Just like everyone else in the state, like no one really cares about you or your class personally, like it's just a chore, something they HAVE to do.. But whatever.. For the English regents, we have to write FOUR ESSAYS... Ohh man....Four..It's gonna be hell... For the Global History, we have to write TWO and answer 75 multiple choice questios.. (So of course, the finals for those classes this year are practice regentses..)

For the English regents, we have to write FOUR ESSAYS... My god! We have a writing TEKS every four years or so..and they'll grade it from 1-4 and last year i got a 3 I was SO mad...they said it was too "unconventional"..Our prompt was "write about a project you once did". So I talked about a mix CD I made for my mom..and stuff..and apparently they only wanted school projects

Nice pics! ;D I haven't read any books lately Well, last week I was reading Slaughterhouse Five[/i] by Kurt Vonnegut (sp?) but I lost interest in it. Does it even have a plot? It's one weird book.. I'm halfway though 5 or 6 Beatley books (I have a habit of reading a lot of books at the same time) but I have no idea when I'll attempt to finish them, lol.

Right now, I'm reading 'On The Road' by Jack Kerouc. It was written in the 1950s. It's really good. I just finished reading 'Alice In Wonderland', 'The Catcher In The Rye', 'Jane Eyre', and 'Emma'. If you can't tell, I've got a lot of free time on my hands I've also been reading a collection of poems by Sylvia Plath. peace, Leslie

I am reading THE GIFT OF GABE, by Brian Joseph. It is a novel but it includes intense and deep analysis of a lot of Beatle songs.
